                   McGhee

7:15PM -     The meeting was opened with Praise and Prayer.

Committee Reports--

Chair:

Carlene greeted all and passed out prepared folders

containing essential CCRM documents.  Together we

prayed St. Paul's Prayer from "Eph. 3:14-20" from the

     cover letter in the folder.

Secretary:

We agreed that the minutes from the July 21st meeting would

be reviewed at the next DSC meeting on October 20th.

Addressing the location of the CCRM Banner (from the minutes of

the June meeting), Werner reported that the Manager of Building

and Grounds at Holy Spirit had located a place at the Church of

the Holy Spirit. After discussion the committee agreed that the

banner could remain in its current location at Mike Yarbrough's

     place of business, "Amazing Grace".

Treasurer:

Velera noted our current bank balance at $405.08.

Communications:

1.  Jan stated she had updated the CCRM address list to 151

names, and would add what she could from Laurie's lists of

"CCRM Function Attendees" and "Prayer Groups". Jan stated

she had written and submitted an article for the West

Tennessee Catholic newspaper. Jan said she would get a copy

of it to Judy Gray in the Diocesan Office of Worship for

     review.

2.  About the CCRM Website, Joe stated that Mike Yarbrough has

the files, but has not put them up on its new hosting site

(GoDaddy.com).  Carlene noted that the site is out of date,

and asked if each of us would review the site and email Joe

with site additions and deletions needed, and that the

notice for the "City-Wide Family Charismatic Mass" should

go up as soon as possible.

3.  Carlene re-iterated that attendance at DSC meetings is

is crucial.  After discussion on meeting dates, it was

decided that November's meeting would be a retreat on

Saturday, November 11th from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the

"Pastoral Center" at St. Louis Church, followed by a

light finger-foods meal, then 7:00PM Praise and

Worship Adoration at St. Anne's Chapel on Highland.

Old Business--

1.   Installation Mass.  Werner said the Mass was a good

beginning and that we should keep the momentum going.

Suzanne noted the attendance was pretty low.  Werner

thanked Jan and Carlene for the article and picture in the

      West Tennessee Catholic newspaper.

2.   Music Ministry.  Joe reported that as yet, we do not have a

multi-cultural CCRM Music Ministry, but that he is still

      working toward it.

3.   Family Charismatic Mass.  Carlene presented two letters, one

she had sent to the Bishop and the Liaison, and one to the

leadership of current and old Prayer Groups.

4.   Teen Life in the Spirit (LIS).  Linda reported the LIS for

St. Williams Teens will be at Resurrection Parish.  Suzanne

mentioned we would have to purchase insurance at about

$98.00.  After discussion, we agreed to collect $5.00 per

Teen, and that the remainder would come from the CCRM

Treasury.  Carlene said that St. Peter's Youth wanted LIS

sometime in the Spring, and that the St. Peter's Youth

Director will probably attend the St. William LIS.

5.   2nd Saturday Praise & Worship Adoration.  Suzanne reported

low attendance, and said we should all attend.

6.   CCRM Cards.  Joe brought the cards Laurie printed, and Jan

suggested we send a card to Fr. Jim Martel for his upcoming

      birthday. All agreed.

New Business--

1.   Diocesan Retreat Center.  Carlene reported the Diocesan

Retreat Center is open for our small groups at most any

time, but they are booked for large groups until next May.

2.   Changing Banks.  Velera said that she had looked into it

and found the benefits to be for "Direct Deposit" accounts

      only.

3.   Official Name and Address.  Carlene noted that the "DSC"

and "CCRM" are only acronyms, and that for our official

correspondence, we should use "Diocesan Service Committee

for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Memphis".  All

agreed.  The Address was not discussed.

4.   DSC Constitution and Goals and Objectives.  Carlene asked

about amending our Constitution and Goals and Objectives,

and provided suggested additions in the booklets she handed

out.  After discussion, we agreed to discuss and finalize

amendments to Goals and Objectives at our November 11th

      meeting.

5.   Retreats and Conferences.  Carlene said that Fr. Herbert

asked about having an "Advent Retreat" either 1st or 2nd

weekend in December.  After discussion, no decision was

reached.  Carlene informed the committee of a Charismatic

Retreat at Subiaco October 13th through 15th, and mentioned

that Fr. Mark from Subiaco could give a Charismatic Retreat

at the Diocesan Retreat Center in June.  Suzanne asked if

Carlene would find out how much Fr. Mark would charge.

6.   National Leaders' Conference.  Werner reported about the

National Leaders' Conference in Albuquerque, NM in

November, and asked if Suzanne would attend at Diocesan

expense.  Suzanne agreed, and said she would bring back

      tapes.

7.   Fr. Polinar Charismatic Weekend.  Carlene reported from an

email she received from Edgar Gumban about a Winter/Spring

Charismatic Weekend with Fr. Polinar from the Philippines.

Suzanne said we should show our support and attend this.

8.   Cannon Copier.  Carlene reported she had a Cannon Copier

that the DSC could use, but it needed fixing.

9.   Meeting Minutes.  After discussion, all agreed the minutes

would be typed and delivered via email within one week of

the meeting.  Copy of the minutes would be presented for

discussion, amendment and approval at the following DSC

meeting, after which the minutes would be posted on the

      website.

9:13PM -      Motion to adjourn by Joe, seconded by Velera.

                       Meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Joe Solaas, Secretary
