Summary of meeting held October 15, 2005

PRESENT: Werner Rose, Suzanne Johnson, Velera Faison, Helen Lenahan, Mike Lenahan and Mike Yarbrough.

The meeting was opened at 7:15pm.

Secretary Report

Velera Faison read minutes from September 16, 2005 meeting. It was corrected under Communications Report and under New Business that West Tennessee should read West Tennessee Catholic.  Suzanne moved to approve minutes as corrected.  Mike seconded.  All approved.

Financial Report

It was reported that our current balance is $293.28. Helen moved that we give the annual subscription dues to the publication Pentecost Today.  Mike seconded.  All approved.

Communications Report

Laurie submitted an ad, calendar and notice for Father Capuci's Healing Mass in October to the West Tennessee Catholic and was denied.

Activity Report

Mine Lenahan reported that the Healing Mass with Father Capuci in October was a success.  There was an attendance of about 200 plus and people were very generous.

Prayer Group Visit Report

Suzanne visited Elise Crockett's house.  They are a younger, mainly intercessory prayer group.  Suzanne mentioned updating the Diocesan Directory's List of Prayer Groups as the Ascension Group at St. Mary's in Jackson no longer meets.

It was mentioned that next month we will discuss having a personal intercessor. Helen mentioned writing Mother Nadine with Intercessors of the Lamb for intercession.  

Suzanne mentioned having a prayer day in Jackson.  Helen mentioned having an Advent prayer day.  Suzanne suggested having a Charismatic Mass regularly with Father Kirk, Father Ed Graves, Father Bert Ebben or Father Jim Martel as possible priests.

It was discussed that we should talk to West Tennessee Catholic on having articles on the Charismatic Renewal published in their paper.

Meeting concluded at 9:20pm with Holy Spirit prayer and blessing from Werner Rose.

Next DSC Meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2005.
