in turn-out, perhaps the Lord is “condensing” us.
Carlene asked Doug to share his flyer for
the “Born of the Spirit” seminar.

After discussion, two amendments were noted.

You” note from Mother Nadine Brown of the Intercessors
of the Lamb, and a letter from the Poor Clares.
Communications:
- Jan
reported she submitted articles to the West
Tennessee Catholic newspaper publicizing the
October Charismatic Mass and the “Born of the
Spirit” seminar and “Second Saturday” Praise
& Worship in November. She also provided
Church Bulletin inserts and sent emails publicizing
the events.
- Jan
stated she sent reminders for the “Alive in
the Spirit” follow-up pot-luck at Holy Rosary
in October.
- Jan
reported she attended Brenda Durden’s consecration
to the Community of the Sons and Daughters of
God on 10/28/2007 and the luncheon afterward.
She said that she also attended the first meeting
of the Santissima Annunziata (Most Holy Annunciation)
aspirants who are discerning becoming USA members
of the Community of the Sons and Daughters of
God.
- Jan
thanked Carlene and Suzanne for sending out
flyers for the October Charismatic Mass via
US Mail.
Activities:
- Mike
reported two participants at the “Born of the
Spirit” seminar, and one additional participant
who was only there for Friday Night’s sessions.
Suzanne stated many members of the “BOS” Team
attended the Born of the Spirit seminar, and
got quite a lot out of it.
- Mike
said plans were already underway for the next
“Born of the Spirit” seminar to be held 2/1/2008
and 2/2/2008 at St. Francis Church. He
said next planning meeting would be 1/15/2008
at Helen Lenahan’s house.
Old
Business--
- October
26th Charismatic Mass. Carlene reported
a word from the Lord saying “My guiding hand
was upon it.”
- Born
of the Spirit. Suzanne moved the DSC provide
$50.00 stipend to Church of the Resurrection
for use of the facilities for “Born of the Spirit”
seminar. Joe seconded the motion and it
passed by voice vote. Suzanne reported
Mike Ziegler, Diocesan office of Worship, wanted
to look over the seminar material before putting
“Born of the Spirit” and “Alive in the Spirit”
on the Liturgical Institute Calendar.
- 2nd
Saturday Praise & Worship. Suzanne
reported only five attendees. Carlene
asked that the DSC attend the next one on December
8th to discern and journal what the Lord tells
us regarding direction for the CCRM. Werner
asked us to specifically discern about the next
DSC, about staying on, or possible replacements.
- Retreats.
Carlene reported the Knickerbokers were
unable to set specific dates in Spring for this
retreat, so it is on hold. Suzanne reported
that when asked, Helen Lenahan felt we could
not afford to bring Sr. Linda Koontz for a retreat,
as previously discussed. We agreed to
table this retreat as well.
- Novena
of Masses in Preparation for Christmas. Carlene
reported the Masses would be evenings at 7:30
PM from 12/15/2007 to 12/23/2007 in St. Joachim
Chapel at St. Ann’s Church, Bartlett. She
said Edgar Gumban asked Werner to assist with
as many Masses as he could, and asked Joe to
assist the Holy Family Music Ministry.
- Stoles
for Deacon Candidates. Carlene said she
would get the cost of materials from her sister
who is making the stoles.
New
Business--
- Life
in the Spirit for Youth. Laurie Solaas
reported that the program is based upon the
new Life in the Spirit, Catholic Edition book
by Teresa Boucher in 2000, and would be given
over six weeks. She said the sessions
have Praise & Worship, games, activities
with questions and answers, all aimed at younger
children. Laurie said she would review the program
with Mike and get permission from National Service
Committee and the author, as it is based upon
the book. Discussion followed about the “Home
School Association” as the first group to attend
and including audio/visual content and props.
No target dates were discussed.
- Charismatic
Renewal DVDs. Carlene reported she had
purchased a DVD called “A New Pentecost” from
ICCRS, International Catholic Charismatic Renewal
Services, and that Johnette Benkovic has released
a new DVD on the Charismatic Renewal. Mike
moved we purchase the Johnette Benkovic DVD,
and Joe seconded. Motion passed by voice
vote. Velera will order it and be reimbursed
the cost.
- New
Years Eve Prayer Meeting. Carlene reported
that last year, a Prayer Meeting was held on
12/31/2006 from 2PM to 4PM at St. Louis Church.
After discussion, we decided to have this
year’s meeting on 12/30/2007, 2PM to 4PM at
St. Louis Church, since 12/31 is on a Monday.
We decided activities would be viewing
the ICCRS DVD, Praise and Worship, and snacks.
Carlene said she would arrange the room
with TV and DVD player at St. Louis. Mike
and Jan will put information together for emailing
to the community.
- NSC
Membership Nomination. Werner reported
that Carlene Inzer has been nominated for a
position on the National Service Committee (NSC).
He said Carlene would be notified by mail
if she has been elected to serve.
- Next
DSC Meeting. After discussion, Mike made
a motion that our next DSC meeting would be
1/18/2008, and that as a DSC we attend the 12/8/2007
“Second Saturday” Praise & Worship in place
of the December meeting. Joe seconded,
and motion passed by voice vote.
9:28PM
– Motion
to adjourn by Mike, seconded by Joe, passed by voice

Respectfully
submitted,
