 Minutes of Diocesan Service Committee Meeting

 

Diocesan Service Committee for the

Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Memphis

November 11, 2006

 

Terms--

1.      "DSC" will refer to the "Diocesan Service Committee".

2.      "CCRM" will refer to the "Catholic Charismatic Renewal of

         Memphis".

3.      First names of Officers will be used.

 

Present:        Werner Rose, Carlene Inzer, Jan Courtney, Joe Solaas,

                Mike Lenahan, Helen Lenahan, Mike Yarbrough

 

2:16 PM -       The meeting was opened with Prayer.

 

Reports:

  • Minutes of the October 20th meeting were approved as amended. It was agreed by all that the Secretary will send to the DSC officers a draft copy of minutes as soon as possible after the meeting, would send to the DSC officers the final copy of minutes, and would only post a summary of the minutes on the website.
  • Treasurer's report was presented by Carlene, as Velera was absent.  No transactions were reported.
  • Communications Report was presented by Jan.  Flyer and mailer for upcoming Renewal events was discussed and approved. An updated listing of Prayer Groups for mailing list and Website are to be provided to Jan and Joe for mailing list and website update.  Jan will send a card from CCRM to Priests just before their birthdays.
  • Joe listed changes to the website.  Joe said he would get a ZIP of all website files to Mike Yarbrough for movement to the new site.

 

Old Business:

  • Music Ministry-  Joe said he does not have an official music ministry yet.
  • Born in the Spirit- Helen said the Born in the Spirit Facilitator's Training will be held Saturday, November 18th at Holy Spirit Church, starting just after the 8:15 AM Mass.  
  • Second Saturday Holy Hour-  Joe reported all is ready for the November 11th Praise and Worship Holy Hour.

 

New Business:

  • Pre-Advent Mass-  Theme of the Mass was shortened to "Waiting with Mary".   Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, were appointed, and Werner was to ask Fr. Martel about Confession during Praise & Worship, and if Mike Yarbrough could setup a book table in the Narthex.
  • Misa De Gallo Novena-  The Novena of Masses at St. Joachim Chapel at St. Ann's Bartlett was discussed.  Werner said he could assist on the 15th.
  • Feast of Holy Family Holy Hour-  Carlene said the Sunday Night Prayer Group would consider this to be their prayer group meeting.
  • Possible June 2007 Retreat-  Discussion of this item was tabled.
  • Future Events-   After discussion of future events, Joe and Mike agreed to put these on a scrolling calendar on the webpage.
  • Review/Discussion of Goals & Objectives-  After discussion about the Purpose and Mission of the CCRM in the Constitution, suggestions were submitted for updating the text of Goal #1 (Objectives 1, 2, and 3), Goal #3 (Objective 1), and adding Objectives 4 and 5 under Goal #2.  No motions, resolutions or decisions were made, and further discussion was tabled.
  • Born in the Spirit-  Dates of January 20th thru Feb 17th were suggested and a $5.00 charge per person was suggested.  No decisions were made.

 

5:03 PM -       Motion to adjourn made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
