Minutes of Diocesan Service Committee Meeting
Diocesan Service Committee for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Memphis 3/11/2007

Terms-- 1. "DSC" will refer to the "Diocesan Service Committee". 2. "CCRM" will refer to the "Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Memphis". 3. First names of Officers will be used.
Present: Werner Rose, Carlene Inzer, Velera Faison, Jan Courtney, Joe Solaas, Suzanne Johnson, Mike Yarbrough
2:18 PM - The meeting was opened with song and prayer.
Committee Reports--
Secretary: Joe read the minutes from the 2/11/2007 DSC Meeting. Amendment to change spelling for word "quiet" in paragraph "2/16/2007 Mass" under Old Business. Joe moved minutes be accepted as amended, and Velera seconded. Motion passed by voice vote.
Treasurer: Velera reported balance, expenses, and income from the Mass on 2/16/2007. Velera noted that Jean Carr had written two $25.00 personal checks for Priest stipends at the 2/16/2007 Mass. Joe moved we reimburse Jean Carr the $50.00 expense. Velera seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Communications: Jan reported about having flyers for 2nd Saturday available at the 2/16/2007 Mass. Jan said she has the flyer ready for the 6/8/2007 retreat.
Activities: Mike Yarbrough stated he had no activities committee report.
Old Business-- 1. Next DSC Meeting. Carlene noted next DSC meeting is Friday, 4/20/2007 at Holy Spirit.
2. 2nd Saturday. Suzanne reported small attendance, and noted that 2nd Saturday needs to be on the Diocesan Calendar in the West Tennessee Catholic every month, and needs to be advertised on the website. Carlene noted the Spanish 1st Saturday Holy Hour needs to be included on the website calendar, also.
3. Goals and Objectives. Carlene provided the updated Goals and Objectives document discussed at last DSC meeting. After discussion of Youth Activities in our Diocese, Joe moved for acceptance of the addition to Goal 1, Objective 2. Mike Yarbrough seconded the motion, and it passed by voice vote.
4. 2/16/2007 Mass. Carlene requested comments on the Mass. Jan asked if we could have Prayer Teams available after each Charismatic Mass. Werner suggested that we introduce the Priests celebrating our Charismatic Masses.
5. 2/24/2007 Mass. Carlene presented an email from the Jambards in Camden, Tn. stating that there were about 30 in attendance at the Charismatic Mass presided by Fr. Tom Kirk.
6. Detroit Conference. Carlene read a report from Ann and Camile Leatherman about the Conference in Detroit, Mi. in February.
New Business-- 1. Carlene presented information. a. Southern Regional Conference in New Orleans 3/23/2007 through 3/25/2007. b. Regional Leaders Gathering at Holiday Inn Crossing in Nashville 3/23/2007 through 3/25/2007.
2. Pentecost Sunday: Charismatic Mass was discussed, but we arrived at a Picnic with Praise and Worship afterward. Mike Yarbrough and Joe Solaas will form planning committee and have preliminary plan completed by next DSC meeting.
3. June 8-10 Retreat. Werner will check this week with Fr. Ponticello, approving authority for the retreat. Carlene reported she and Mike Yarbrough worked out the pricing for the Queen of Peace Retreat Center. Suzanne made motion to have the retreat at Queen of Peace Retreat Center. Mike Yarbrough seconded the motion and it passed by voice vote. Music, flyer, and prices were discussed, and Mike Yarbrough made motion to keep the prices as they are on the flyer. Joe seconded the motion, and it passed by voice vote.
4. Charismatic Mass in April. Mike Yarbrough made a motion to have a Charismatic Mass on April 27th. Joe seconded the motion, and it passed by voice vote. Mike will be joined by Jan Courtney, Suzanne Johnson, and Joe Solaas to plan the Mass and present the plan at the next DSC meeting.
