Terms--

1.      "DSC" will refer to the "Diocesan Service Committee".

2.      "CCRM" will refer to the "Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Memphis".

3.      First names of Officers will be used.

 

Present:   Werner Rose, Carlene Inzer, Velera Faison, Jan Courtney,

                Mike Yarbrough, Joe Solaas, Suzanne Johnson, and Laurie

                Solaas.

 

7:25PM -  Meeting was opened with song and Prayer.

 

 

 

Committee Reports--

 

Secretary:

Minutes of the 11/11/2006 DSC Meeting were read and amended two places in "New Business" where "quotation marks" were missing. Mike made motion to approve minutes as amended. Velera seconded the motion. Motion passed by voice vote.

 

Treasurer:  

Velera submitted her report showing expenses and current balance for the months of December and January.

 

Communications:

Jan presented the text for bulletin inserts for the February 16th Mass "Retreating Into the Wilderness with Jesus" and a flyer for the June 8th thru 10th retreat at the Queen of Peace Retreat Center.  Jan stated that she is reaching past members and members who do not have email with information about upcoming events.

 

Activities:

Mike reported no additional information regarding the Born in the Spirit seminar upcoming.  

 

 

Old Business--

 

  1. CCRM Website.  Joe to contact the Diocesan office about correcting the link to the CCRM Website, and to put the names of the Prayer  Groups on the "Prayer Groups" page on the CCRM Website.  

 

New Business--

 

  1. June Retreat at Queen of Peace Retreat Center. We discussed the flyer in detail, and we agreed to change the June Retreat title on the flyer to "Waiting in Joyful Hope", and to add a deadline of 5/31/2007 for registration for the June Retreat.  Additionally, we agreed to advertise the retreat in Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Mississippi Dioceses. After detailed discussion of the pricing on the "Room Options" section of the flyer, Mike made a motion to table further discussion until the Activity Committee can sort out the details. Jan seconded the motion, and the motion passed by voice vote.  The original motion and amendment have not been voted on.
  2. Pre-Lenten Mass at OLPH.  The bulletin insert provided by Jean Carr at OLPH was discussed. Werner said he would discuss propsed changes to the insert with Jean.  The Flyer was discussed, and all agreed the flyer should read, "Praise & Worship and Mass, starting at 7:00 PM". Jan said she would provide Carlene and Jean with the amended flyer.
  3. February and March DSC Meeting Dates.  After discussion, all agreed upon Sunday, February 11th, 2PM to 4PM and Sunday, March 11th, 2PM to 4PM, both at the Pastoral Center at St. Louis Church.
  4. Bishop Steib's 40th Anniversary.  Carlene reported she sent the Bishop a card for his Anniversary.  Jan said she would attend the Bishop's Anniversary Mass.
  5. Tracking of Action Items.  Werner said he would produce an action item tracking spreadsheet from the minutes of our DSC Meetings.

 

9:43PM -   Motion to adjourn by Mike, Seconded by Jan, passed by                  voice vote.
