Terms--

-------

1.      "DSC" will refer to the "Diocesan Service Committee".

2.      "CCRM" will refer to the "Catholic Charismatic Renewal of

         Memphis".

3.      First names of Officers will be used.

 

Present:  Werner Rose, Carlene Inzer, Velera Faison, Jan Courtney,

                Joe Solaas, Laurie Solaas

 

7:40 PM - The meeting was opened with song and prayer.

 

 

Committee Reports--

 

Secretary:

Joe read the minutes from the 3/11/2007 DSC Meeting.

Amendments to minutes were noted.  Motion to

approve minutes as amended passed by voice vote.

 

Treasurer:

Velera reported re-imbusrement check to Jean Carr for stipends

she provided.

 

Communications:

Jan reported that she had submitted articles to the West Tennessee

Catholic for "Second Saturday Praise & Worship Adoration" and for

the April 27th Mass.  Jan said she had mailed out flyers for all

upcoming events, a cover letter, and the "Introduction to Catholic

Charismatic Renewal" pamphlet.  Jan had also sent an email for

all upcoming events.

 

Activities:

In Mike's absence, Joe reported on the preparations for the April

27th Mass.  Laurie suggested calling the Charismatic Mass a "Festival

of Praise", as it contained most of the elements: Mass, Confession,

Praise & Worship, and Prayer Teams.

 

Website:

Joe reported the website has not been moved to "GoDaddy" site,

yet.  He reported the cost would be approximately $80.00 for

two years, and that he could be reimbursed sometime after the

June retreat.

 

 

Old Business--

 

1.     4/27/2007 Mass.  Joe said he would provide the music, and

        would arrange for the prayer teams.  Carlene said she would

        get the banner from Mike Yarbrough.  Laurie suggested that

        the Praise & Worship music should include songs the youth

        could lead hand motions to.

 

2.      2nd Saturday.  Laurie reported that 2nd Saturday is still

        only attracting small attendance.  

 

3.     Southern Regional Conference.  Joe and Velera reported the

        conference well attended with approximately 1600.

 

4.     Pentecost Celebration.  Carlene reported that the committee

        elected to cancel the Pentecost Picnic in favor having a Pentecost

       Celebration at the Sunday Night Prayer Meeting, at

        the Pastoral Center at St. Louis Church on 5/27/2007.

 

5.     June 8-10 Retreat.  Jan reported that permission was given

        for the retreat.  Carlene suggested taking up a collection at

       Saturday and Sunday Masses to help defray the cost.  Werner

       suggested that for our next retreat, we ask for the money up-front.

       Carlene reported that $250.00 was paid to Queen of Peace

       Center to reserve the site.  Jan agreed to submit an article in the

       West Tennessee Catholic and the Arkansas Catholic newspapers.

 

 

New Business--

 

1.     Card for Suzanne.  Carlene and Jan passed around a get-

        well card for Suzanne, which all signed.

 

2.      Carlene presented information.  

 

        a.     June 2nd Ordination of Deacons Krzysztof Rusin

                and Robert Stellini at the Cathedral, 11AM, with

                Vespers at 7PM the night before (June 1st).

        b.     Youth Conference June 22nd thru 24th. Suzanne

                had presented information at the Home School

                Meeting and had mailed information to Youth

                Directors.

        c.     July 6th, Fr. Ben Bradshaw is available, so

                Carlene asked if we wanted to have a Charismatic

                Mass on that day.

        d.     Future "Life in the Spirit" Seminar to be planned.

                Prayer Groups at OLPH, St. Peter's, and the

                Emmaus Men's Prayer Group are interested.  Jan

                stated that we should have on-going formation for

                new people who come to the Renewal.  Werner noted

                that this is in our Charter.

        e.     4/23/2007 Diocesan Liaisons Conference.  Werner

                said he would not be able to attend.

        f.      June 22-24 National Conference "40 Years of

                Renewal" in Meadowlands, NJ.

        g.     July 13-14 Mid-South Regional Conference in

                Nashville, TN.

        h.     October 5-7 Charismatic Retreat at Subiaco

                Monastery, Arkansas.

 

9:20 PM -  Motion to adjourn passed by voice vote.
